Embrace Your Depression-Free Life While You Can
If you are someone who has struggled with depression, you understand how terrifying the illness is. It is not something that can be compared to the common cold or flu; it does not just disappear after a couple weeks of medicine and rest. The effects of depression are difficult to deal with. The illness is stubborn and it takes time for the individual to just reach a point of contentment.
Being Around Others With Depression Can Bring You Down
For those battling depression, it can be difficult to hold onto any feelings of happiness, especially if those around them are going through a similar struggle. Sometimes, people feel guilty when they are in a great place, while others are feeling the opposite. It's important to remember how your body feels when you are genuinely happy with yourself and not let other people, even loved ones, bring you down.
How to Maintain Happiness
Depression can easily snatch away those happy emotions (signs, triggers for depression relapse). By continuously reminding yourself about why you are content with your life, you will find ways to push away the negative energy other people may carry with them. It may also be helpful, if you can, to separate yourself from others who are dealing with depression. You are the most important person in your life. Remember that if you want happiness to overpower any lingering thoughts of depression.
