Bipolar Disorder: Acknowledging the Pain I Caused

It is not easy to acknowledge the past and confront experiences that may have affected those around you.

After I received my diagnosis of bipolar 2 disorder, my main objective was to move forward. I did not address the things that occurred prior to my bipolar breakdown or anything regarding my disorder.

A couple years ago when I felt like I was at peace with myself, I realized it was time to acknowledge the past and the people in it. This includes my friends who were present during my breakdown and a romantic partner who was left in the dark after my breakdown.

In this video, I describe what it is like taking responsibility for the hurt I may have caused them when I was undiagnosed. Also, giving them the opportunity to ask questions and share their story with me.

How have you confronted the past living with bipolar 1 or 2 disorder? Please share your experience and/or comments below.
